Our project celebrates the publication of the book
“SEXUAL DISSIDENCES: Frau Diamanda's Catalan Scenes.Travesti Politics of Resistance and Anti-canonical Knowledge”,
edited by Oke Fijal, Marina Gržinić, Sen Reyes and Melina Vesely,
published in 2025 by Stenberg Press and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

The book focuses on Frau Diamanda/Héctor Acuña writings on decolonial strategies and politics of survival of TRAVESTI identities beyond binarism and gender.
The first part of the book brings together texts by 14 artists, authors and academics, including Pêdra Costa, Marlene Wayar, Claudia Rodríguez, and others, who present a mapping of travesti knowledge from which new narratives for the future are to be derived.
The second part features the English translation of Frau Diamanda ESCENAS CATALANAS (CATALAN SCENES), a powerful sexual cruising through Barcelona with a dizzying analysis of power and submission.

We are looking forward to our event with an incredible stage program that includes readings, discussions, performance and music, connecting the themes of the book with guests from Barcelona and the local scene in Vienna.
